Krishak Bandhu Yojana, also known as  PM Yojana  is the farmers’ welfare scheme of the Government of West Bengal first announced in 2018 Budget speech by Partha Chatterjee in WB Legislative Assembly. It seeks to offer farmers financial stability and social backstop. When it was first launched in January 2019 and subsequently relaunched as “Krishak Bandhu (Natun)” in June 2021, this scheme guaranteed farmers could keep on farming while safeguarding their families from financial challenges.

Objectives – उद्देश्य

  • “The government shall be offering assistance of ₹4,000 to ₹10,000 per annum for Kharif and Rabi seasons as a form of income support to enable farmers to purchase seeds, fertilizers and pesticides,” she said.
  • Provide ₹2 lakh as death benefit to the family of registered farmers (18-60 years) in case of natural or accidental death.

Eligibility – पात्रता

  • Permanent resident of West Bengal is an essential condition.
  • Must possess RoR, Patta or Forest Lease of arable land.
  • Sharecroppers/lease farmers are eligible.
  • Between 18 and 60 years for death claim.
  • Farming on an active or leased basis is also required.

Online Process – ऑनलाइन प्रक्रिया

  1. Visit krishakbandhu.net.
  2. Choose: “New Farmer Registration” or “Apply Online”.
  3. Add your Aadhar number, mobile number and other details.
  4. Upload: Aadhaar, land records, bank details, photo ID etc.
  5. Complete and return the form in full.
  6. Note your application number.
  7. Track application status online.

Offline Process – ऑफ़लाइन प्रक्रिया

  1. You can go to your nearest agriculture office, block office or panchayat.
  2. Pick up the application and complete.
  3. Attach required documents.
  4. Hand over the form to the officer concerned.
  5. Follow up for application progress.
