Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMGAY)
- Launched on 20th November 2015 at Agra
- Objective: Construct upto 1 crore pucca houses in rural area by 2019 through giving financial assitance
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana is launched for Indian citizen living in rural area. In rural area many villagers have their own house but the condition of their houses are not in a good condition, So under this scheme government will provide financial assistance to prepare pucca house to all eligible people.
Target of Gramin Awas Yojana
- 33 Lac pucca House in 2016-17
- 5 Lac pucca House in 2017-18
- 5 Lac pucca House in 2018-19
Eligibility
- Beneficiary/Individual will be chosen as per the census (Jan gadna) 2011 (SECC 2011)
- Preference will be given to those people who are homeless or living in Kuccha house
- Every year a list of beneficiary will be made.
Under this scheme financial help or benefit is decided as per the area and location
- For Plane Area assistance will be given of Rs.1,20,000
- For Hill Area assistance will be given of Rs.1,30,000
Along with the above 2 financial benefit, every beneficiary will be offered 90-95 days employment (naukri) under MNERGA scheme, which would be of almost Rs.18000, and also Rs.12000 will be offered separately to construct toilets.
How to apply for Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana
There is no application form for this scheme/Yojana, Beneficiaries will be chosen from the list prepared by Gram Sabha as per the census 2011 (Jangadna 2011). Once your Name comes on list the process of creating pucca house will be started and all financial assistance will be transferred directly to beneficiary Bank or Post office account.

- Training to beneficiary or the complete assistance will be given to build pakka house
